Hello and Goodbye

Well looks like hurricane Wilma is supposed to hit me tomorrow. Not looking forward to it, but heck at least this time if I lose power it's not August. Still hot here, but not as bad.

Anyway, just wanted to pop in and say hi, and a temporary goodbye in case I do lose power and can't come visit for a while.

Be back when I can

I live!

Not as bad as the storms last year, but still made my electricity do some strange flickery type things. I got lucky because the storm was traveling from west to east, which puts me on the clean side (read: "the not-as-bad side") of the storm.

What I am worried about are my uncles... one is working in Boca right now and the other is there to visit him. They were on the dirty side of the storm and I still haven't been able to get in touch with them. Before the storm one of them called me to tell me they weren't worried about it because the locals didn't seem worried so they weren't making any storm preparations. What he didn't seem to understand was that the locals weren't worried because we've all been making storm preparations since, oh, April. I'm sure they're ok. Probably just without power.

Oh, also found out my grandmother is at her winter home over by Port Charlotte which is not far from where the storm made landfall on the west coast. Haven't heard from her yet either.
