The following Dodgers have been smited by the JDK for their crimes against Jam:
All the girls! for picking on the JDK and damaging his already delicate self esteem!
The Basserd Who Nicked Copper's Stuff For the offense of nicking Copper's stuff. You are a tw*t, whoever you are and we all hope you get run over by a tram in Nottingham. Or Liverpool. Or whereever else they have trams!
Copper For the crime of playing with her Wii instead of her Jammie pals!
I may have ranted about news prioities before, but now I shall do it again & this time include people who post on facebook about news in with the journalists.
Yes, it is sad that Amy Winehouse is dead (Shocking? No). Yes, it is quite entertaining that Murdoch got a shaving foam pie attack (Serious news? No), but hello, 92 dead in Norway, 41 in China from a bus fire & 11 in a train crash (though admittedly do have to wonder how many normally die in accidents on an average day in China anyway), an Iranian nuclear scientist shot dead, famine in Somalia, uprisings continuing across the middle east (now there's something with the potential to start a new chapter in world history), a whole town damaged by rebel attack in Columbia, 12 killed by a landslide in Peru, oil-workers convoy bombed in Pakistan... I could go on, but you're probably getting the picture...
Personally, I think that the big news here is that you're managing to keep your rant down to under 200 words.
I have to say though, that my Facebook list is far more interested in telling me about how awful life is, on account of all the terrible things that keep happening to people such as say, hangovers, early starts, quite long shifts, slightly annoying children or spouses, having to walk the dog in the rain or cook the dinner, or that thing that someone said that was so very upsetting. News doesn't even get a look in, even the trivial stuff.
It's quite tempting to comment 'At least you're not dead on an island in Norway' on everyone's posts.
I actually used to hear about quite a lot of breaking news through facebook, but since EVERYONE is now in it, the good stuff tends to get drowned out in the noise. I really out to see if my Google+ account is any different (although I think I only have about 2 friends on there at the moment; God, life sucks!).
I guess my friends are just really political. most of the stuff I see is newsy/political in nature. Granted there is plenty of daily life whining, but there's a fairly even mix. (I admit to being a bit of a life whiner)
The Amy Winehouse (however sad) thing irks me though because there are some really heavy news items going on right now, that people are just completely blind to. Norway is just one of them.
I don't post a lot of that stuff because so many of my friends do already, it would seem repetative, but if you want more news JDK, I think I can oblige ;)
And yeah I'm on google+ too, but there's not a whole lot of talking on there in general, and a lot of it is reposts from FB/Twitter so I get to see it multiple times.

To be fair to the friend who I replied to with a shorter version of the above, she does work on planet celeb (though more likely to be dragging them to Somalia than hanging out with any of them). The others have no such excuse.
I tend to think of fb mainly as a way of knowing people I'm not in regular contact with are still alive.

You are by no means the worst person on my facebook list. Not even close. At least you're literate. And funny. And have mental kids.
My worst 'contributor' is my own cousin. I'd unfriend her, but she's mentally unstable and a kickboxer. I worry that she'll track me down and kick my... er... boxes.
