The following Dodgers have been smited by the JDK for their crimes against Jam:
All the girls! for picking on the JDK and damaging his already delicate self esteem!
The Basserd Who Nicked Copper's Stuff For the offense of nicking Copper's stuff. You are a tw*t, whoever you are and we all hope you get run over by a tram in Nottingham. Or Liverpool. Or whereever else they have trams!
Copper For the crime of playing with her Wii instead of her Jammie pals!
Ooh, I do work a little bit harder than I did then! Hmm, that's a shocking realisation! I'm in denial today, well that & the only one in the office for most of it!
How long before the never ending story on UA gets pulled d'you reckon?
I don't think it will get yanked soon, but you never know. None of the VIP's/Mods/Admins have bitched about it yet........but they may not have noticed it.
There was a similar thread a couple years ago that got over 1000 replies. I think the original post was "I'm Booooored" or something similar. It got yanked because it was tying up way too much space/traffic etc. Be aware though, the chat forum gets purged regularly.
Oh Brian, Brian, Brian! Has nobody told you? Our very own Katie was the one who started that contraversial thread, Darren started stalking me & Katie & nearly got banned (though not for the stalking), it was (rather strongly) suggested that if we wanted to chat we go elsewhere & stop abusing the UA servers & here we are! <stops to breathe>
I never knew the history. What a story. Thanks Sharon, and thanks to Katie for inadvertantly starting the JDBB! I just remember "GotFalls" posting a million things in the chat forum and running up his post count. He is the reason that the chat forum does count toward post count now. I just assumed he started it.
Gotfalls used to be a member of the JDBB. Only when we changed from the nsaty interim board to the glorious one we have here, he signed up with a silly name.
That is hilarious! I got the General Chat in UA changed because I was bored and had no one else to talk to? Oh, the horrible days of programming in Access...
Well, that has sufficiently amused me for the day. Thank you all.
And yes, I have moved on with my life. Now I'm getting my MS in Computer Science and much prefer real life to internet forums when it comes to learning. I must say, I don't say nearly as much in real life though, thank goodness.
Have a great time, all.
EDIT: And I didn't chat to get my post count up. The UA people were unfortunately the only people I ever talked to while I was working on that database. I was very thankful for it, as sad as that sounds.
