The answer is always a multiple of 9. The symbols changes each time you click the button but every time the multiples of 9 (9,18,27,36.....) all have the same symbol.

Sneaky.  I was trying to figure it out.  I had a suspicion that it was something along those lines because of the mathsy bit...
