Passion

No no.  I'm not posting about anything smutty, so you can get that look of yer face right now, young lady.  Yes you.  You know who I mean!

Actually, I'm about to go and see the Passion Of The Christ with the Vickster tonight and I'm interested to hear (at the risk of sparking off a religious debate) what everyone else (if anyone's seen it) thought of it.

I shall report back here in a few hours to see what y'all have to say!  Keep it fluffy!

scary as in it shows what a crucifiction was probably like - it's an 18 (our highest rating for a movie) and i believe all stops are pulled out.. like the 40 lashes Jesus was given before he was crucified.. they show all ten gruesome minutes of it etc etc

Yup.  It was pretty gruesome.  Didn't really break new ground in that we all know that JC had a pretty nasty time of it, but it one of those movies like Schindler's List that everyone should see at least once (even from behind the sofa) but you probably won't want to see again anytime soon.

Remember the tissues.

I went to see it, and I have to say it brought a tear to my eye.  I know the stories in the bible describe how it was, but that doesn't in anyway prepare you for what was on screen.  It brought a sort of harsh reality to what they meant by lashes, and crucifiction.  It made my toes curl when I saw the guards hammering 6 inch nails into the hands and feet :shudder:

Definately not for the feint hearted.  I've heard reports of 2 people dying of heart attack while watching this film.... It's pretty darn ugly.  If you can imagine wooden handle, with about 10 strips of leather attached at one end, and with metal shards attatched at the ends of the leather, and being whiped with those on your back, face, legs, arms, stomach its bad

Well.. that's my analogy

This reminds me of a lighter subject: Scotland.

There's these two female Yanks on a Scotland tour and they stop by a local castle. They notice a guard standing post and start into it: "Pssst, psst, pssst." "No, I can't do that!" "Okay! I'll do it then." So the aforementioned approaches the guard and enquires "Excuse me, what do you wear under your kilt?" The guard responds "Why don't ye put yer hand up there and find out for yerself?" So she does, and remarks "That's gruesome!" The guard responds "Well if ye left yer hand up there for five seconds longer, it would've grew some more!"

We just need to mention the King of nail varnish and fishnets Eddie Izzard and we've got cross dressing too.
A veritable full house. Aren't we all clever?

KT, indeed. Mostly as my brain was blatantly cross contaminated, I simply wanted to share.

That black box joke was a good one! And this is the ulitmate!

Thanks D!

Actually, while it appeared that I was winking at KT, Mitchell and yourself in my previous post, it turns out I simply had something in my eye.

Bugger, it seems that it is still there.
