Fantastic 4

So me and the JDK (coz he likes me better than ALL of you hehe!) - trotted off to see the F4 last night and I have to say it was alot better than expected - so if you have a mo... go!

Anyone seen a film recently that surprised them as to how good it was?

It's kinda difficult not to notice that one.

I'm sure you must be a 'couple'

You bring up "relations" in regards to JDK in the other thread - and you expect us to NOT think of things like that ?

Pffff! - I was tryin to say that because we are clearly NOT a couple - (though JDK wishes) - that I could mock him without running the risk of that particular sanction...

I was tryin to be subtle! - didnt work though

Dont know WHY i bother!

Nuthin terrible 'bout Sin City.  One of the all time best movies I've ever seen.  I did predict though that it would not appeal to the mainstream audiences because it was too stylised for the popcorn eating chick-flick viewing public.

Worka geeenyus, 'twas.

What was the other one?

it wasnt that it wasnt mainstream themed.. it was just a tad violent for this squeemish viewer..

the other one was 'wedding date' which i went to see with billy and his parents one day when there was nothing else starting for a long time.. we stayed for about 30 minutes, all got terribly embarrassed about the bachelorette party goings-on on-screen and left to sneak in to watch the much better 'million dollar baby' (actually, it was the day of the oscars that we went to see it)

the only embarrassing bit about that was when billy's dad shouted 'white trash!' out really loud.

So you swapped one chick-flick for another.  Nice!

I don't think Sin City was more violent than many other movies around.  Course... it just gets more and more violent as it goes on, so you'd have hated it!

Went to see War of the Worlds last night.  Wasn't expecting film of the year type stuff, but frankly it was a total pile of slimey cucumbers.

Heh.  Nice analogy.  It was indeed a pile of steaming **CUCUMBER**e.  Nice special effects though.

I liked it.  But then I'm easily pleased.  Cinematically speaking, that is.

It just started so badly with TC playing such an unconvincing dock worker (though did think the kid way out-acted him) & just kind of fizzled out at the end.  In the middle there were so many continuity errors that even I spotted a couple (quite unheard of) and the logic of the plot made Teletubbies look like Open University.

But anyway, glad you enjoyed it Susan!

I kinda liked War of the Worlds really.. It was enjoyable action flick.. acting was fine if you ask me, I didnt notice any continuity errors and I've seen it twice! I was kinda dragged to it the second time though..

Sin City was way better though!
