International Day Against Homophobia

The International Day Against Homophobia, held on May 17 every year, is a rallying event offering an opportunity for people to get together and reach out to one another. Fondation Émergence promotes, mainly on a pan-Canadian level, the International Day Against Homophobia and encourages organisations and individuals to highlight this event in their environment. Find out more
That's right. Today is a national day of intolerance of people who are afraid of Gays! If you have a friend who is scared of gays, you must shun, bully or otherwise discriminate against them. If you're really comitted to the cause, you will perform a hate crime against your gay-fearing freind!

Next week we will be celebrating the International Day against Arachnophobia, when we will force all the people who are scared of spiders to sit at the back of the bus!

Am I right to be slightly worried about the "and things"?

It's a good point though, surely the word should be somthing more like homo-ist?

Things are things - mostly nothing to worry about, apart from the things that are I suppose... but these are just things - rather than the other things... or things....

The things have never been a worry for me. It's the stuff that keeps me up at night.

And... Homoist is definitely the way to go! Nice linguisticals there, Shaz.

I think we should all actively attempt to change the use of the word. I'm tempted to create a facebook group promoting the word Homoist...

You just have to be careful on pronunciation; I deliberately put the hyphen in to emphasise the split of the syllables. (Yes, I do know that's not the official purpose of a hyphen)

I would probably not go on facebook trying to promote that word... some people might take offense and have you a$$ banned - like the A$$Banners - you have to watch those...
