The following Dodgers have been smited by the JDK for their crimes against Jam:
All the girls! for picking on the JDK and damaging his already delicate self esteem!
The Basserd Who Nicked Copper's Stuff For the offense of nicking Copper's stuff. You are a tw*t, whoever you are and we all hope you get run over by a tram in Nottingham. Or Liverpool. Or whereever else they have trams!
Copper For the crime of playing with her Wii instead of her Jammie pals!
So it's rained quite a lot over the last few days. In my part of the world, there are lots of puddles, some of them two or three feet across!
Meanwhile, in certain parts of the UK, it seems that Roland Emmerich's vision of 2012 has come early, albeit in a slightly less dramatic way. These, apparently are the worst floods EVER!!! Apart from those ones we had a couple of years ago.
So yeah, Britain is quite soggy this week. How are the rest of you?
My place is wet - but I live on the top of a big hill (because I'm not insane enough to buy a house next to a river or on a flood plain - the clue is in the name) so I'm not worried.
I dont like strong winds though - they get everywhere !
I feel for people when this happens - but we have to accept that we cant expect to live wherever we like. You dont pitch up in places like New Orleans or Tornado Alley and expect there never to be a problem - instead of spending billions trying to proof these areas, we should relocate the people who live there and start getting people to think seriously about population control.
rant over.

What I find alarming is the collapse of loads of bridges in Cumbria.
I have work colleagues based in Cumbria and I travel there often when I have projects going on with them (although I haven't for about a year). One of my work colleagues is now having to do a 40 mile commute instead of a 5 mile commute because of a collapsed bridge. People have been told to try and avoid bridges if they can help it at the moment, but in a county with 1800 bridges it's probably difficult to go anywhere if you stick to this rule!

Around here, nitwits build their half-million dollar homes in Lake Riverwater Floodgate subdivision, then when the first heavy dew washes them away they sue the homebuilder and wait for their government bailout check...Don't get me started.....Ben
