Chalotte, Harry and the Pope

Charlotte not happy with Pope

Charlotte Church has criticised Pope Benedict XVI for branding the Harry Potter books "products of evil".

Catholic Charlotte said: "I'm from a Catholic family. But I don't like this new Pope - he even wants to ban Harry Potter. He says it's because it's full of witchcraft and other bad stuff."

The views of Pope Benedict XVI are different to those of the late John Paul, who praised author JK Rowling for living her life like a Christian, and helping children understand the difference between good and evil reports The Sun.

Speaking about the books Pope Benedict XVI said: "This is a subtle seduction, which has deeply unnoticed and direct effects in undermining the soul of Christianity before it can really grow properly."

Charlotte added: "If he bothered to sit down and read it, he'd understand the morals of it."

Heh.  Do you think the Pope cares what Charlotte thinks?

Anyways... What do we think of our Harry?  A good read or evil 'seductive' stuff?

never read the books, seen one of the films - mildly entertaining, but so very much for kids -  of course there's a moral tale, but frankly there's morality in the Mr. Men series

I've read all the books... and seen all the movies... hehe

They are fun light entertainment but nothing to rave over....

Evil and corruption can be found anywhere if that's what you're looking for. This isn't the first time dear Harry has become a target of some religious group

Personally I read the books, and loved them, and would much prefer my children to read them than shall we say Genesis 19:4-8. .

i loved them at the start, now it's more of a 'i have to read/see them because i liked the first ones so much' - altho no doubt, i will read this new one when it comes out

Of course not - utterly ridiculous to suggest so.  Bah.
