The following Dodgers have been smited by the JDK for their crimes against Jam:
All the girls! for picking on the JDK and damaging his already delicate self esteem!
The Basserd Who Nicked Copper's Stuff For the offense of nicking Copper's stuff. You are a tw*t, whoever you are and we all hope you get run over by a tram in Nottingham. Or Liverpool. Or whereever else they have trams!
Copper For the crime of playing with her Wii instead of her Jammie pals!
So they reckon that 50% of all internet traffic in the UK is illegal file sharing.
With the recent proliferation of legal, affordable, mainstream music downloads such as Amazon and Tesco, I wonder how much of that is music these days. I wouldn't be surprised if there had been a big drop in music file sharing and a big increase in TV and movies.
Rather then concentrating on punishing file sharers, there should be a concerted effort to identify the reason for all this downloading - for example a six month (or longer) delay between the US and UK for popular series such as House, Chuck and Reaper and no easy, legal way to obtain these shows without having an expensive cable or sky package until they turn up on overpriced DVDs another 6 months down the line. About a year after that, they become affordable!
Make the stuff available and affordable and I reckon most people will do the right thing!
It's all moot anyway. The proposals will bounce around Parliament and Brussels for years before anyone gets serious about it and then the ISPs will drag their heels because it's a lot of work to police and all the while, file sharers will be finding clever ways to disguise their activity!
I understand the ISPs are going to resist this, so its going to take forever to go through to law. Even then they will have to target the highest users first - so anyone doing the occasional bit of downloading for a series they really want to see, and will be 'paying for' once it turns up on the cable provider anyway - should probably be ok.
Doesnt affect me though, obviously.

I'd swear I replied to Darren's post about four and a half hours ago, but it's gone. Maybe one of the administrators took umbridge at what I was saying...

Two points:
First: don't swear. It's fucking rude.
Second: We have admins? Oh wait, that's me. Not guilty m'lud. Maybe you spacked up the 'post' button!
It's just occured to me to check out who actually has moderator privileges here - it seems that some idiot gave them to Stead. Also Sharon, Katie and Nate (two of whom don't post here any more! I should remove them, but they were the original Bored Boarders! I just don't have the heart!)
I often wonder (here and on other boards) what causes regular posters to suddenly stop posting...I've seen dozens of farewell speeches from members who can't stand being away and then return weeks or months later...Some die and we may or may not know about it...Some are banned (and I've banned a few myself in the short time I've owned my board)...It just makes me curious when there's no obvious reason......Ben

Not sure what happened to Nate - but I think I might have driven the other one away. Bad Stead - I did push the boat out and invite them back but to no avail...

Jackbooted thug......
I might add that leaving absent members with moderator or admin powers may not be such a great idea if they held a grudge against anyone...It could be disruptive at the least if they returned with malice aforethought......Ben
