In case you were wondering (part 2)

The best way to skip a stone!

Gotta say... It's been bugging me for years.

My grandfather was a great stone skipper. We'd go to the beach by his house all the time to do it. He could get something like 15 or so jumps out of a stone - and knew exactly which stones would work just at a glance.

My brother was a fairly good close second. Most I ever got was 8 or so.

I am pretty good at Stone Skippin' myself. Went on a week long canoe trip in high school and we used to make bets on who could skip it the most. Just look for smooth flat stones, river stones are the best. Grip the thing in the valley between your thumb and pointer finger, drop down side-arm and let 'er fly. The goal is get the stone to spin off of your pointer finger when throwing.

Nice.  My skimming skills are somewhat limited.  I'm lucky to get 3 skips.
