I, on the other hand congratulate you on making a brave, but ultimately correct decision.  You have been able to get past the snobbery and general hatredness of PC owners who are just jealous of the fantasicality of the Mac and make your own choice!

Well done.

Partial software offerings, yes! Even better, Mac's Office software has drastically reduced functionality!!

Isn't that just because they got rid of the crap that no-one ever used?

Nope, real, nice functionality that people actually want to use, e.g.,

I'm sure they kept the extra crap that no one really wants.

well i have acquired a copy of office and will be duly reporting on how good it is

it's a 15inch powerbook g4
1.67 processor
gig of ram..

just came out last week.. it's very pretty
today i bought a nice case for it too
aww

i got it by persuading my employer that it was essential for my job.. now that's what i call JAMMY! (and yes, despite that, it is mine)

and i'm learning my lesson, all ye who have not used one, shalt not judge

That's right, Katie.  Don't try and defend it against these uneducated spatulas.  There's no point.  They just can't accept that there are 'different' things out there...

To be fair when it comes to Music and graphics there is no comparison - Id have a G5 (or 4 for that matter) any time over a PC - but I cant afford both and I likes the PC for other things to which the Macky struggles on -

That's only an example, I'm sure it's handicapped in many other aspects. When you report, please be sure to mention how sweet Access for the Mac is.

I LOVE IT

and yeah, it's sad about the mac guy dying.. and i had no idea that they invented all the things that they invented.. the mouse.. the icons.. THE INTERFACE
thank you mr mac

i havent used excel really at all, but i'm liking word a lot - havent noticed any differences yet

and it hasnt crashed once

they all just need to work on their compatibility tho - printing to a printer on a network with PCs is a pain in the big toe

I think its worth pointing out that I originally came up with the idea of MP3 music download sites back in 98 when I first successfully emailed an MP3 via ISDN line to a friend and he put it up on a site for me. I then downloaded it again.

The idea didnt take off though mainly due to me doing absolutely nothing with it and going back to bed. So there. Stitch that Xerox!

Me neither until I was watching a documentary on Steve Jobs/Apple Mac some time ago. Here's a more detailed version of the Mouse/GUI story:

http://www.inventionandtechnology.com/2002/03/mouse.shtml

It was briefly touched upon in your original link, D:

quote:

The GUI was developed by Xerox PARC, and used in its Star machine.

But the acceptance of the interface did not truly begin until the concept was developed for use by Apple in its pioneering Lisa computer.

It was good story, including Steve Balmer trying to calm Bill Gates down when he first saw 'Lisa'.
