That's pretty disappointing. I always had quite high regard for Bale. It's an odd story as if it had been anyone other then his mum and sister involved, I'd have written it off as attention seeking. i think we'll have to see what other details emerge before making a judgement.

I did know he was Welsh, though. I remember that when Batman Begins came out, Bale was told to conduct interview in an american accent so that audiences weren't confused. Who they though would be confused by an actor having a different accent to his on-screen character, I couldn't say.

Still gonna be an awesome movie though. Hell, yeah!

On July 22, 2008 Bale was arrested on suspicion of assaulting his mother and sister.[44] He attended a London police station by appointment after his mother and sister reported the allegation to Hampshire police [45].

The alleged incident was believed to have taken place on the evening of July 20 at Park Lane's Dorchester Hotel where Bale was staying. His mother Jenny, 61, and sister Sharon, 40, are said to have gone to a police station in Hampshire to make the allegation, which was subsequently referred to the Metropolitan Police.

Police held off approaching Bale until after he attended the first European screening of the new Batman film, The Dark Knight.

He remained in custody on July 22, 2008, according to police.
