Now ... I ain't a singer but ...

... I needed to get out some pent up emotion, so I recorded a song ... a cover that seemed to some up some of what I was thinking/feeling. Then I thought "what the f*** am I going to do with this?" so I thought I'd inflict it on you lot.

It's here : http://www.noisemonger.netmx.co.uk/many_rivers.mp3

Listen to it, or don't, I honestly don't mind ... this is simply because otherwise it would sat on my PC forgotton. Stead would undoubtedly done better vocals on this ... but he wasn't here ... and he'd have wanted me to do a widdly solo.

So, forgive the poor vox and harmonies and lack of widdliness and, if you can bare it, I hope you like it.

Ah - you know me so well -

I really enjoyed this - I'd forgotten about this song. Good choice! I actually think your voice suits this better than Jimmy Cliffs - the lower register is more soulful. And I think this is some of the best singing I've heard you do on tape - I'm itching to get at the mixing desk on it (you know me!) we should mix and master it over at my place in glorious 32bit-ness maybe...

Good work!

You can remix if you like, but I think you'll find it's hard to top that kind of genius

Good stuff, Hengle, my man. You're way better at strangling cats than Steaders!

H'ok ! so you guys may remember a while back that Hengle posted a super cool version of Jimmy Cliff's "Many Rivers" on the website and I said I would have a stab at re-mixing it a little.

Well, Hengle went one better and brought me over everything he had recorded to make up the song and gave me permission to tinker with it to my hearts content. This I have to say is pretty brave, and I cant say I'd be too keen to let someone deconstruct one of my recordings but Hengle has the self confidence to do that. So here is my take on it - still with Hengle singing and playing all the guitars but with some changes by me.

I should add - this is my take and it changes the feel a little from Hengles which I fully understand if it changes the direction he was heading in!
