The following Dodgers have been smited by the JDK for their crimes against Jam:
All the girls! for picking on the JDK and damaging his already delicate self esteem!
The Basserd Who Nicked Copper's Stuff For the offense of nicking Copper's stuff. You are a tw*t, whoever you are and we all hope you get run over by a tram in Nottingham. Or Liverpool. Or whereever else they have trams!
Copper For the crime of playing with her Wii instead of her Jammie pals!
My Mum posted a birthday card to the JDK late last week expecting it to arrive on Monday or Tuesday.... but it didn't!
I phoned her last night to ask if she had actually posted it... suspecting that she may have had a senior moment... she is senior after all!
Anyway, tonight a postcard turned up to say that my Mum's card could not be delivered because there wasn't enough postage to cover the cost of delivering it. The card went on to say that we would have to collect it from the main sorting office where an extra £1.06 needed to be paid. This extra £1.06 includes a £1.00 handling charge! Now I find the fact that they have gone to all the trouble of delivering a card to my house to tell me that the first card didn't have quite enough postage on (by only 6p) as a bit mean. I'm wondering ... maybe just for a joke... I should send them a claim for the petrol I will use to drive to the sorting office to collect it... the drive is about 10 miles so will probably be about a £1.00 !
The more I think about this the more I think the Royal Mail's gone mad... surely there's better ways to handle this for such small amounts? Couldn't my postie knock on the door sometime when I'm in and ask for the 6p (or even £1.06 - I'm happy to pay the charge) rather than holding the card 10 miles away to ransom?
