So, lost the dog tonight (& finding him was almost as distressing as losing him, stinky, horrible dog!). As I was looking for him I asked a minibus driver, randomly parked near the beach if he'd seen him (& he did eventually find him for me ) & he gave me a big lecture (in a nice, concerned kind of way) about how the beach was full of pervs, with people dogging & all sorts (his words) & therefore not safe for me to get out of my car. Now, I'm certainly not totally naive & had figured out for myself that was the kind of thing happening down there, but I'm also of the opinion that whatever is going on, although not something that appeals to me, is happening between consenting adults & as long as I make it bleedin' obvious that I'm there soley to walk the dog & keep a reasonable distance (making the assumption there will probably be people there who wouldn't want to be recognised) then I'm actually probably a whole lot saferfrom dangerous sexual predators than I would be on a night out in town. Opinions?
Generally, i think you're probably okay if you have your dog with you and he's the sort of mutt that will come running if he thinks you're in trouble. If he's not that sort of dog... well... take a panic alarm or summat. Just in case.
