Grrrr. Why is it that any time people wish to spend charity money someone has to have a go about how it could've been better spent?
Some guy's doing a polar expidition - "How many families could the money for that support?"
They want to erect a statue in memory of Yeltsin - "Give the money to a hungry child!"
An arts charity pays for a permanent installation at a hospital - "Think how many nurses could've been employed for that money!"
I'm sorry, but NO! If people donate money to further the arts, exploration, or whatever then that is where the money should go! I'm sure if these people wanted to give money to feed starving children then they would (here's a thought; maybe they actually do?).
and on the other side of the coin, had my fellow countrymen (and ladies) had any brains they could of saved a ton of their hard earned taxmonies had they not elected a warmongering idiot....what a waste

Is this the right place to bitch about chuggers? Do you know that they even have them in bedminster? It's a horrible horrible part of town populated almost exclusively by people on benefits yet the charities still try to hit them up for money.

I believe that if you earned, you decide where and how it is spent...I donate to various charities of my choosing and I let others do the same...Whenever someone tells me the government should be doing more to help the "underprivileged", I always ask them what percent of their own funds have they donated to this cause...The answer is usually, "Well I pay my taxes..."
Re-directers of the public coffers have no credibility with me until they can show me what they have given up personally for their pet project...Ben
