TV programmes wot I saw

I wonder if this'll have the same longevity that the movies thread does?

There's lots n' lots of great telly out there! But I've most recently come across Hustle, a show by the BBC about a bunch of London based con-men starring Marc Warren and Adrian Lester, both excellent actors. Marc Warren seems to be getting himself about a bit these days, so he's the guy most likely to be well known.

I'd previously seen odd episodes of this now and again, but never followed it, but recently picked up the first season on DVD - I'm about 3 episodes in now and I'm hooked! It's very, very slick, which you'd expect because it's made by the same production company that put together Spooks (another show that I've been meaning to sit down and watch properly) and Life on Mars (awesome, awesome telly!).

Basically the plot of each episode is that the find some unpleaseant character with oddles and oodles of money and attempt to relieve him or her of it using classic con techniques. The second episode, involving a fake movie was most excellent.

Anywhoo... very cool stuff. Watch it if you can (I know, if you were going to you probably would have by now, given that it's about to start it's 4th season on BBC1).

What's everyone else been watching thats ace?

I remember seeing promos of it recently but never got to watch it...Sounds good...I did a get a chance to see Casino this summer and, although it's 12 years old, was a really good show...Of course, I've always liked Robert DeNiro roles anyway...Ben

The new series of Spooks is on tonight - Yay!  Darren, you really have to watch it - I have all 5 previous series on DVD if you need them.

I've been watching "The Ultimate Fighter" and "The Contender" - both of which have been quite good - oh and Two and a Half Men but that's just fun money

I've just recently got into Shameless. I'm on season 3 at the moment, but it's taking me ages to watch them as the JDK's not that interested in it, so I only watch them when he's not around or busy.

It's basically a soap (but with a different story each episode) about a petty criminal extended family living on benefits in a Manchester council estate. It's full of bad language, sex, drink, drugs and petty crime. The storylines are sometimes slightly OTT, but it has some great acting and loveable (if very badly behaved) characters.

Not much of a television fan, but when I do flick it on, I watch National Geographic shows, and the occasional news program.
