The following Dodgers have been smited by the JDK for their crimes against Jam:

Hmm. Interesting. It had never really occured to me to consider cigarette smoke as a significant environmental pollutant, but apparently they're quite bad:
Ten times more air pollution is produced by cigarette smoke than from the exhaust fumes emitted by diesel-powered vehicle, a report released this week has stated.
Released by the British Medical Association (BMA) following experiments conducted by the Tobacco Control Unit at the National Cancer Institute in Italy, the study comprised the readings taken from a turbo diesel two litre engine left running and from three filter cigarettes left smouldering, both for a period of 30 minutes.
An hour later the combined particulate levels, which also cause cancer (see related story), were ten times higher for the cigarettes than for the car. The diesel engine was found to produce double the particulate matter measured outdoors at the time, while the cigarettes produced 15 times more.
Dunno how reliable the site is - it took about 3 seconds of googling to find, but we should be able to trust the BMA. I'm not quite sure about the math in the article either. My reckoning makes a cigarette about 2.5 times more polluting rather than 10 times. I wonder how scientific the study actually was.
As for Leonardo DiCaprio... whatever my opinion of him personally, I can't deny that he's a pretty damn good actor. I saw Blood Diamond afew months ago and it was excellent.

Good find
In greenhouse gas terms cigarettes produce four times more methane than CO2 - methane is four times a better greenhouse gas (in it's greenhouse effect) than CO2 the planet goes through 15 billion cigarretes a year or 10 million an hour and me leaving my TV on standby is causing the end of the world!

I was reading (in something I've since recycled, so can't quote) that the cigarette industry is also the biggest user of trees - just bad all round really.
