Homer and the giant erection

Wish for rain to wash away Homer
Pagans have pledged to perform "rain magic" to wash away a cartoon character painted next to their famous fertility symbol - the Cerne Abbas giant.
A doughnut-brandishing Homer Simpson was painted next to the giant on the hill above Cerne Abbas, Dorset, to promote the new Simpsons film.

Is it just me, or does it look a bit like Homer's playing hoops with his doughnut and the giant's ...er... yeah, anyway...

I'm willing to bet that was the intended effect...

The last time I was in a discussion with someone over this particular bit of advertisement I was told that I had my panties in a wad because I thought it was in poor taste.

So I won't debate it here ;)

LOL well I'm sorry to say that my underpants are not very interesting today ;)

I just thought it was in poor taste to put the homer thing RIGHT next to the giant... its obnoxious. I understand that the giant has been used in other advertisements.. I don't know how I feel about that, but its like putting a giant homer dressed as a Pharaoh on top of the Great Pyramids. It's just tactless.

Perhaps its because I don't understand the Simpson mania gripping everyone with the release of this movie... I just don't care about the Simpsons and I never did...

Excellent. Moving on. What colour underpants are you wearing? And how did you get them in such a wad? wink.gif

I have a soft spot for D'oh boy so as long as they dont do any permanent harm I thought it was quite a neat little trick...

Sorry

Those little buggers who wished for rain to wash Homer away caused all kinds of trouble yesterday -

That's ok.. I was trying to start my 10 hour road trip to Ohio on Wednesday when we got slammed by torrential rain and thunderstorms. It took me 2 hours to go 5 miles before turning around and coming back home as the roads were all flooding and closing left and right.
