Remote controls

So guys I was watching a US programme today and one of the characters was using a TV remote (exciting eh?) - now the odd thing was it kinda looked similar to one of mine but not exactly the same so I wondered whether there was an almost infinite variation of these or whether there are a few classic designs that companies tweak. So why dont we share images of our remotes - and see how they look worldwide? Here are mine...

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Left to right we have -

My old VCR remote (doesnt get much use now)
My XBOX 360 dvd remote
My Sony CD player remote
My SKY + box (satellite and TVO for our friends over the pond)
My TV remote

Anyone else feel like sharin?

I was gonna reply to this last night, but forgot.

Despite my best efforts, we have waaaaay too many remotes.

On a (sort of) related note - my replacement wii controllers arrived today. Wiiiiiii!
Lucky for me I am working at home. Hee. And its Easter so all the students have gone home. Feel free to hurl abuse about useless academics at me, my wii and I can take it.

Glad to hear you're all wiimoted up again!

Rather than hurling abuse, could I hurl demands for your wii number so that I can have strange miis wandering about the place?

Hmm, not sure I know how that works. Expand?

In theory, if you were to add my Wii's number to your Wii's address book and vice versa, while we were online, our mii's would wander onto each other's Wii and clutter up the mii channel. And visiting mii's would turn up in things like Wii Sports.

As you and Katie are the only two people I know with Wii's I've been unable to test it as both yours and Katies Wii's have been out of commssion for various interesting reasons.

You can find your Wii's number in the address book in the Wii Message Board channel. It will look something like this: 6248 3106 1657 5670 (which is mine!).

It's explained in much detail in the instruction manual which, being a girl, you will have read from cover to cover!

Hmmm, so obviously the only way for you to know this is if you also have studied the instruction manual - something you're trying to tell us Darren?

Not really. I most likely came across it whilst surfing the net in work time. Not that I ever do that. Much.

I'm reduced to quoting myself...

That was fun. I'll do it again!

Woohoo!

What's great is that I can also misquote myself, which is much more fun!
